Last year, OBG provided support, resources and a sense of community for over 75 birthparents across Ohio. The monthly birthparent support meetings continue to be safe and open spaces for birthparents to engage in a powerful form of peer support- one that builds from birthparents own experiences and allows them to be the agenda-setters of their own post-adoption support. OBG also expanded their services and added a ‘general’ adoption support meeting, open to all, that brings birthparents, adoptees, adoptive parents, and community members together to discuss important issues in the adoption experience.
